Senior Registered Nurse Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Beacon Hill Villa, a 80-bed Long Term Care site nestled in the heart of downtown Victoria. Our community is committed to providing an engaging work environment and treating each other with respect and dignity.
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to coordinate and supervise the activities and duties of those who deliver direct resident care. The ideal candidate will be a role model and team leader who can assess residents' needs, implement and evaluate individualized care plans, and provide direct care to residents as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Assess residents' needs and implement individualized care plans.
- Support LPNs in reviewing and updating care plans as required.
- Administer medications and treatments as per established standards and regulations.
- Responsible for community wound management and liaison with physicians and community agencies.
- Provide direct care to residents and liaise with other disciplines and departments.
- Support the move-in process and work collaboratively with other team members.
- Act as First Aid attendant and maintain a safe environment for residents, family, and staff.
- Coordinate and supervise care staff, directing their work and assigning duties as necessary.
- Participate in orientation of new employees and provide educational material and direction on procedures.
- Required to work positively and collaboratively with all team members and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved program for Nursing and holds a current license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an RN.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing an asset.
- Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification and CPR.
- Successful annual Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) competency testing.
- Previous experience in a long-term care facility an asset.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Computer skills, including the ability to navigate basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
