Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Reclamation Specialist to join our team at Montrose Environmental Group. As a key member of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team, you will be responsible for managing and executing reclamation projects, providing technical leadership, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide technical leadership for reclamation projects and reclamation project portfolios
  • Provide technical project direction and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff and project managers

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' previous consulting experience in a directly related role including experience managing and executing various reclamation and vegetation management projects with a minimum of 5 years of experience getting regulatory closure for reclamation work on oil and gas sites
  • Registration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization SIA, AIA)
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment with a proven background managing reclamation projects including surface reclamation, revegetation, vegetation management, and detailed site assessments
  • Familiarity with preparing technical reports, work plans and cost estimates
  • Familiarity with compiling and reviewing Alberta Combined Assessment Tool and Record of Observation (RoO) form, Record of Site Condition submissions, and Reclamation Certificate applications
  • Understanding of improvement releases and overlapping exemptions
  • Experience with the Alberta Energy Regulator's OneStop tool is an asset
  • Familiarity with the contaminated sites closure process is also an asset
  • Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to provide effective technical direction and mentorship to other professionals
  • A working knowledge of provincial regulatory frameworks in Western Canada
  • A valid and clean class 5 driver's license with no restrictions
