We are in search of a proactive and skilled Human Resources and Culture Lead to enhance our workforce. The incumbent will manage various HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance oversight, and regulatory compliance, ensuring a productive and inclusive workplace.

Van-Kam Freightways Ltd is a prominent regional carrier in Western Canada, specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) logistics. With multiple terminal locations, we efficiently deliver shipments across British Columbia and Alberta, and our network extends into the U.S. and Eastern Canada.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Talent and Culture to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals, including initiatives to enhance the employee experience.
- Guide and support the Talent and Culture Specialist in various HR tasks, including recruitment and employee relations.
- Supervise the Talent and Culture Administrator in managing recruitment processes and health and wellness programs.
- Address and investigate complaints related to harassment and workplace violence.
- Assist in fostering positive employee relations and a supportive work environment.
- Contribute to the formulation and revision of HR policies.
- Provide HR support to managers and employees across the organization.
- Oversee compliance with federal employment programs and legislation.
- Ensure adherence to relevant federal laws, including the Canada Labour Code and Canadian Human Rights legislation.
- Collaborate with the Talent and Culture team to plan and execute employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in conducting investigations related to workplace harassment.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships at all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A collaborative team player.
- Passionate about human resources and employee support.
- Proven initiative and proactive approach.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support various locations.
Experience and Training:
- 3-5 years of progressive HR experience in roles such as Generalist, HR Business Partner, or HR Manager.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal employment legislation.
Certifications:
- CPHR candidate or CPHR designation preferred.
