Job Title: Human Resources Consultant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Consultant to provide and support the delivery of HR services to our employees. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Human Resources and be responsible for a range of human resource functions, including talent acquisition, HR Information System (HRIS) administration, employee benefits and compensation, and employee and employer relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead recruitment activities, including advertising, screening, and interviewing candidates.
  2. Provide strategic guidance and support to management and employees to address employment-related issues.
  3. Interpret and apply provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, employer policies, and legislation.
  4. Manage the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including the addition of HRIS enhancements.
  5. Lead and monitor employee accommodation and return-to-work activities.
  6. Act as the primary point of contact for benefits administration and employee leave entitlements.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have completed a post-secondary degree or diploma in the field of Human Resources, along with one to three years of experience in recruitment and labour relations in a unionized environment. Strong organizational, people, and communication skills are essential for success in this position, as is the ability to utilize various business software applications. This position will require some travel throughout the province for recruitment; a valid driver's license is needed. Possession of the CPHR designation or CPHR Candidate is preferred.
