The Human Resources Operations Manager collaborates with leadership and team members to cultivate an environment that promotes diversity, creativity, efficiency, and ongoing enhancement. This position delivers consultative and business-oriented services to leaders and employees within the designated business unit/function/location, ensuring alignment between the human resources strategy and the overall business strategy while addressing HR-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Leadership: Acts as a key member of the leadership teams within the assigned business unit/location/function. Partners with leaders to design and execute people and organizational strategies that align with business goals. Provides consultation on business challenges and advocates for business needs when establishing HR priorities. Delivers proactive, innovative, and client-focused HR solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Talent Development: Collaborates closely with Talent Acquisition Specialists and Hiring Managers to facilitate hiring processes, including talent assessments, succession planning, leadership development, organizational design, and staffing strategies. Oversees selection and onboarding processes and manages talent deployment throughout the organization. Anticipates resource needs and skills to support strategic business goals and implements strategies to bridge gaps.
  • HR Initiatives and Services: Directs all facets of Human Resource services for the designated location/function/business unit. Implements and manages both enterprise-wide and location-specific HR initiatives, including change management, talent development, leadership training, career advancement, performance evaluation, people leader effectiveness, compensation, compliance, and communication strategies. Leads HR-related projects and collaborates with Centers of Excellence, HR Specialists, and Shared Services as necessary to enhance critical HR processes.
  • Employee Relations: Utilizes expertise in employee and labor relations to enhance management and employee interactions, fostering credibility and trust. Oversees labor relations programs as applicable and advises management on the interpretation and application of labor agreements. Engages in dialogue with employee and union leadership, participates in union management meetings, and manages grievances, contract negotiations, and arbitration processes.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR or a related field
  • Knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Experience in change management
  • Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Digital proficiency
  • Able to analyze data driven by analytics
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Familiarity with modern HRIS systems, such as Workday, SAP, and other relevant technologies, e.g., PowerBI - preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in English
  • Comprehensive HR knowledge; capable of influencing organizational success through the development, maintenance, and execution of effective HR policies, practices, and procedures that support the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Consultation, Influence, Change Leadership, Relationship Management: Drives organizational initiatives and secures stakeholder buy-in; collaborates across functions to develop and implement solutions; supports and facilitates change across the organization.
  • Business Acumen and Strategic Insight: Understands business operations and recognizes how HR practices contribute to essential business functions.
  • Critical Thinking/Evaluation: Enhances the effectiveness of human capital programs by supporting their development and monitoring their success using relevant data.
