About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Hollandamer Motor Hotel. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food and Supply Management
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    • Ensure that all food and supplies are stored and handled in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Staff Supervision and Coordination
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
    • Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure that they are meeting the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Customer Service
    • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Ensure that all customers receive a high level of service and that their needs are met.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
    • Prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Food Order Management
    • Prepare food order summaries for the chef.
  • Work Schedules and Conditions
    • Establish work schedules to ensure that the food service department is adequately staffed at all times.
    • Ensure that all staff are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with high pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Be physically demanding, requiring long periods of standing and walking.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Display a client-focused approach to work.
    • Take initiative to improve processes and procedures.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
    • Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
    • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
    • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
    Requirements
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
    Work Environment
    • 35 hours per week.
    • English language.
