Position Overview:
The Healthcare Administrative Coordinator is an essential member of the Health Services Administrative Team, providing a comprehensive array of clerical services and support to the Health Services division of the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre.
The Coordinator will manage reception duties, handle telephone and in-person appointment scheduling, and oversee medical records management within the Health Services sector.
Reporting Structure:
The Healthcare Administrative Coordinator reports directly to the Team Leader of the Administrative Team, ensuring the effective completion of assigned responsibilities, and through the Team Leader to the Director of Health Services and the Executive Director.
Qualifications
Skills, Education, and Experience:
Educational Background and Language Proficiency
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Office Assistant Diploma
- Fluency in both French and English
Professional Background
- A minimum of two years of administrative or clerical experience in a healthcare environment
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and capacity-building skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proficient in computer operations and various software applications
- Demonstrated adaptability, sound judgment, and initiative
- Sensitivity to the needs of diverse communities and individuals
- Attention to detail and courteous telephone manner
Compensation and Benefits
In lieu of traditional benefits, a 4% vacation pay is incorporated into the hourly wage. Employees may also opt into the Pension Plan (HOOPP).
Employment Conditions:
Work hours will be collaboratively determined with the successful candidate to ensure a healthy work-life balance. The schedule may include evening shifts based on operational requirements.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal reference check, verification of educational credentials, and adherence to the linguistic profile of Sandy Hill Community Health Centre.
