Job Summary
The Diversified Analog Solutions team in Ottawa is seeking a university student for a 12-month Co-Op opportunity starting in January 2025. The successful candidate will report to a Senior Application Engineering assigned to the student and will be responsible for applying sound Engineering skills to a variety of tasks in the area of WiFi / IoT device evaluation and customer board tuning and testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist application engineering group members with customer support activities.
- Contribute to new integrated circuit and module product test activities.
- Lab test RF circuits, present test results, and participate in customer SCH/Layout reviews.
- Complete small projects and task assignments of various degrees of complexity, ranging from device characterization, test environment programming, and documentation.
Requirements
- Candidate must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS Electrical Engineering (or related) degree program.
- Knowledge of basic electronic circuits and principles.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, PPT, and Word) and have an aptitude for quickly learning other company-specific software.
- Knowledge in RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience in using test equipment and tools such as multi-meter, oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources, and soldering tools is preferred.
- Good communication, organization, and documentation skills and be willing to work in a lab hands-on environment.
