Role Summary

As a key engineering resource, you will oversee a program or a segment of a program, ensuring effective technical coordination, work planning, and execution by a diverse team. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will provide comprehensive technical management support to meet the program's financial, scheduling, and technical goals. Your work will involve both cost-plus and fixed-price contracts with various clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the daily operations of the multi-disciplinary project team, collaborating closely with the Program Manager to fulfill technical and scheduling requirements while adhering to budgetary limits. Organize resources effectively to execute the work scope and promptly address any shortages or conflicts with the Program Manager.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication and coordination within the project team, ensuring alignment with project objectives and resolving any arising issues.
  • Manage intra-project activities with essential support resources, including Systems Lead, Technical Leads, and Back End resources, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify and mitigate customer and program risks, maintaining a status report on retired risks, realized risks, and project assumptions.
  • Assist the Program Manager in negotiations with clients regarding key program requirements, objectives, funding, and resources, ensuring a cohesive approach within the team.
  • Oversee non-labor management, ensuring that subcontractors and suppliers meet project timelines and financial targets.
  • Support the Program Manager in maintaining program control through regular reviews, design assessments, and meetings, providing technical guidance and decision-making support to the team.
  • Enhance program visibility with clients through regular technical and management meetings, fostering strong relationships and confidence in MDA's quality systems and products.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Engineering or equivalent technical/business education.
  • Relevant experience in engineering roles within the space, robotics, or related fields. Candidates will be evaluated for Intermediate, Working, or Senior levels based on qualifications and experience.
  • A willingness to expand knowledge across various areas of expertise.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, task estimation, and monitoring, along with familiarity with Earned Value Methodology and project life cycle management.
  • Self-driven with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; capable of motivating a team and engaging with external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Additional Information:

Successful candidates must obtain and maintain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
