As a pivotal member of the MDA Space team, you will take on the role of lead engineering resource for a specific program or its components. Your responsibilities will encompass technical coordination, work planning, and the execution of tasks within a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Technical Management:** Oversee the technical management aspects of the program, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
2. **Team Coordination:** Facilitate daily operations of the multi-disciplinary project team, supporting the Program Manager to achieve technical and budgetary goals.
3. **Project Communication:** Maintain effective communication and coordination among project team members, fostering collaboration across various disciplines.
4. **MAIT Coordination:** Generate test plans and procedures, coordinate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) design and procurement, and manage test facilities to ensure timely document release and test execution.
5. **Risk Management:** Identify and manage program risks and opportunities, prioritizing mitigation strategies and tracking the status of risks and project assumptions.
6. **Supplier Liaison:** Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that non-labor resources are forecasted, committed, and received in alignment with project timelines.
7. **Program Oversight:** Assist the Program Manager in controlling the program through regular reviews, audits, and meetings, providing technical guidance and decision-making support.
8. **Customer Engagement:** Enhance program visibility at the customer level through regular technical and management meetings, fostering strong relationships and confidence in MDA's quality systems.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent technical/business education.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role within the space, robotics, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in team leadership, task estimation, and monitoring, along with a comprehensive understanding of the project life cycle.
- A creative and innovative mindset is essential.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
