Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Diagnostic Imaging Support Specialist to join our team at Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant - Clinical Support, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Diagnostic Imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Assist with patient transport, lifts, moves, and transfers, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
  • Perform clerical duties, including data entry and record-keeping, to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
  • Conduct supply inventory and manage clean and soiled linen handling services to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Collaborate with Diagnostic Imaging technical staff to ensure seamless operation of diagnostic imaging equipment and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-2 years of recent relevant experience in a Diagnostic Imaging environment, preferably in a clinical support role.
  • Health Care Aide certificate (certified) from a recognized educational institution.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Ability to work co-operatively and courteously with patients and hospital personnel.
  • Flexibility and independence in planning work and the ability to make priority decisions in carrying out daily activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, oral and written.
Working Conditions
  • General conditions normally found in a Diagnostic Imaging Service in a community hospital.
  • Must be able to withstand extensive amounts of standing, walking, bending, and lifting and be able to lift and transfer patients in a safe manner.
  • Will be required to transfer patients to and from wheelchairs, Geri chairs, stretchers, diagnostic imaging tables, and patient beds utilizing safe transfer techniques.
