Culinary Specialist

**Job Summary**
The Culinary Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the food preparation and cleaning of the food preparation area in a large-scale commercial cooking operation. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety requirements, safe work practices, and Health Regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinate food distribution and ensure that all food is prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
- Supervise and manage a team of cooks to ensure that all food preparation and cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Develop and implement food preparation and cleaning procedures to ensure compliance with Health Regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all food preparation and cleaning tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure that all food preparation and cleaning equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
**Requirements**
- Completion of a recognized course in Commercial Cooking and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a large-scale commercial cooking operation (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Safe Food Handling Certification.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing staff.
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet established deadlines under pressure.
**Physical Requirements**
- The incumbent is normally required to work rotating shifts, including statutory holidays and weekends.
