About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team at the Looking Glass Residence. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting the recovery and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recreation and leisure programs that promote resident engagement and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to monitor and document resident progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for growth.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized recovery plans, ensuring that resident needs and goals are met.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, providing feedback and suggestions for process improvement.
  • Drive residents to designated locations, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents, reporting any concerns or issues to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Provide direction and support to volunteers and students during activity programs.
  • Participate in departmental and other meetings as requested.
Requirements
  • Grade 12, Certificate in Community Mental Health, and one year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 4 BC Driver's License.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and current CPR certification.
  • Ability to organize work, supervise, and communicate effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
