Mental Health Worker, Looking Glass Residence

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team at the Looking Glass Residence. As a Mental Health Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the recovery and well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized recovery plans, focusing on recreation and leisure activities.
- Act as a role model, demonstrating and assisting residents in daily living skills, healthy lifestyles, and interpersonal communication.
- Monitor and document resident progress, reporting observations to nursing and medical staff as needed.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify and address resident needs, skills, and goals.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, providing input and feedback to supervisors.
- Drive residents to designated locations, ensuring safe transportation and maintaining vehicle records.
- Support a safe and healthy environment for residents, maintaining a physically and emotionally safe milieu.
- Provide direction and supervision to volunteers and students during activity programs.
- Participate in departmental and other meetings as requested.
- Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, and materials, reporting any issues or needs to the Nurse Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Grade 12, Certificate in Community Mental Health, and one year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid Class 4 BC Driver's License.
- Valid First Aid Certificate and current CPR certification.
