Job Title: Mental Health Worker, Looking Glass Residence

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team at the Looking Glass Residence. As a Mental Health Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the recovery and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized recovery plans, focusing on recreation and leisure activities.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating and assisting residents in daily living skills, healthy lifestyles, and interpersonal communication.
  • Monitor and document resident progress, reporting observations to nursing and medical staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify and address resident needs, skills, and goals.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, providing feedback and suggestions for process improvement.
  • Drive residents to designated locations, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Support the program milieu by maintaining a safe and healthy environment for residents.
  • Provide direction and guidance to volunteers and students during activity programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12, Certificate in Community Mental Health, and one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Class 4 BC Driver's License.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and current CPR certification.
