Reporting to the Manager of Total Compensation, the successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and adaptable professional capable of working independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion. The ideal applicant will possess exceptional time management abilities and be adept at adjusting to various work patterns in a dynamic team environment.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Completion of a Community College program in Accounting or Business with a focus on Payroll is required.
  2. A minimum of three years of payroll experience in a large organization with over 500 employees is essential.
  3. Proficiency in managing electronic Employment Insurance records is necessary.
  4. Ability to verify timesheets for compliance with established guidelines is required.
  5. Quick and accurate data entry skills (10 Key Data Entry, 8000 kph/95% accuracy) are mandatory.
  6. Advanced skills in Excel (testing required with a minimum of 75% accuracy) are essential.
  7. Experience in reconciling employee benefits is required.
  8. Capability to perform all job functions with minimal supervision and possess strong analytical and time management skills.
  9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines is crucial.
  10. Experience in reconciling payroll-related balance sheet accounts, including liabilities and receivables against the General Ledger, is necessary.
  11. A current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate is required (training provided upon hire).
  12. Familiarity with the Hospital's Pension plan is preferred.
  13. Willingness to assist the Payroll Analyst with additional clerical tasks and projects as needed.
  14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  15. A solid attendance and work history is essential.
  16. Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.

A Criminal Reference Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, conducted within the last six months is a prerequisite.
