Accounts Receivable Clerk Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team at a renowned company in Vancouver, British Columbia. As an A/R professional, you will be responsible for entering, posting, and reconciling batches, researching and resolving customer A/R issues, preparing aging reports, placing billing and collection calls, maintaining cash receipts journals, and updating and reconciling sub-ledgers to the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute foundational accounting tasks in accordance with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
  • Contact clients to help resolve payment issues and assist in setting up payment plans
  • Verify codes and documents
  • Present information to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department, and other stakeholders
  • Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers
  • Sort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
  • Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means and make arrangements for payment
  • Represent and exude the values, culture, and mission of the organization
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
  • Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
  • Skilled with ERP systems
  • Daily Reconciliation experience highly desired
  • Foundational knowledge in Bank Deposit
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
  • ACCPAC experience
  • Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Proven knowledge of Daily Reconciliation
  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized
  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
