About the Opportunity

The Clinical Therapist is a key member of the Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Therapist provides assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. The Clinical Therapist carries out the general duties of the Adult Service team, including participating in quality initiatives in the program of care, engaging in collaborative person-centred care, and utilizing available information technology to support best practice.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline, such as social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, or occupational therapy. Current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body is also required.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders, as well as experience in providing individual and group evidence-informed therapies based on care plans to clients with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or concurrent disorders.

The Clinical Therapist will also have excellent problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in multiple software applications. A high level of written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as experience with conflict resolution, is also essential.

Responsibilities

Working Conditions
