POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Director of Women's Transition Housing & Supports Program (WTHSP), the Administrative Coordinator for the Women's Transition Housing & Supports Program plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive administrative assistance to the WTHSP team. This position is essential for the effective management and enhancement of programs and initiatives aimed at supporting women and children affected by violence.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of secondary education along with post-secondary coursework in office management or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative roles.
- Alternatively, a combination of education, training, and experience deemed acceptable by the employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
The candidate should exhibit a solid understanding of housing initiatives, particularly those designed for women and children facing violence or at risk thereof.
- Familiarity with government and non-profit social service organizations and their offerings.
- Practical knowledge of office and program administration protocols.
- Capability to manage sensitive files and organize confidential information.
- Proficiency in preparing reports and formal communications.
- Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment when interacting with diverse audiences.
- Skill in building effective relationships with a wide range of organizations and individuals.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Aptitude for thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new IT systems relevant to large governmental operations.
- Typing proficiency of at least 50 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Criminal Record Check Required.
