Senior Underwriter, Middle Market

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Middle Market team at AXA XL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business, developing and maintaining broker relationships, and supporting the growth of our Middle Market business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal business, ensuring profitable premium and rate goals are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, identifying their marketing and education needs and providing support.
  • Interact directly with insureds, brokers, and producers, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring high-quality service standards.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to achieve business objectives and ensure compliance with internal audit guidelines.
  • Represent AXA XL at internal and external events, promoting our brand and products.
  • Meet with brokers to set annual targets, issue monthly status reports, and monitor P&L against plan.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Middle Market insurance underwriting, with a strong understanding of Canadian insurance products and regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain robust insured and broker contacts.
  • Collaborative team player with a creative approach to problem-solving and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
