**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Manager to support our corporate communications strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our communications strategy, maintaining industry awareness, and monitoring news and media trends.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Establish and coordinate the day-to-day operations of Killam's corporate communications strategy;
  • Maintain an awareness of industry-specific issues and other trends that may influence internal and external communications;
  • Monitor news, media, and social channels, identifying emerging issues and opportunities for Killam's communications strategy;
  • Coordinate all media requests and responses;
  • Assist in coordinating, preparing, and reviewing communications material, including social media content, website content, internal and external policies, executive statements, speeches, presentations, and other content;
  • Participate in developing brand awareness and oversee the maintenance of brand integrity across all platforms;
  • Assist in coordinating the design, digital, and social strategy to improve engagement;
  • Prepare a budget for the communications team and ensure compliance.

**Requirements**

  • Impeccable writing, reviewing, and copy-editing abilities;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies;
  • Understanding of graphic design, layout, and publishing;
  • Experience with social media platforms and social media marketing;
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Proven project management and organizational skills;
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline;
  • Three to five years of communications, marketing, public relations or related experience;
  • Experience in public speaking, media, and public relations;
  • Experience with social media and digital content.
