Position Overview:

The Director of Multifamily Builder Sales is instrumental in steering the Multifamily Sales division towards success, ensuring exceptional service while driving sustainable sales growth. This role involves strategically identifying and capitalizing on opportunities within the Multi-Family and Apartment Replacement sectors, with a strong emphasis on boosting sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

The position encompasses oversight of a team that includes the Multifamily Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Manager of Sales Operations, Builder Sales Support Manager, and Contract Manager, while collaborating with key stakeholders in Finance, Purchasing, and Logistics. This leader will actively seek innovative strategies to advance the business, embracing challenges and pursuing excellence relentlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

General Operations:

  1. Lead efforts to cultivate and enhance relationships with Key Accounts.
  2. Oversee the Builder Sales division, ensuring timely execution throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Develop and manage the annual budget for the division.
  4. Identify and execute profit opportunities.
  5. Oversee marketing budget for events and sponsorships.
  6. Manage contract processes in collaboration with the Contract Manager.
  7. Handle the P&L for the Multifamily Builder division.
  8. Identify new target accounts and expand networks within the industry.
  9. Engage in community events to represent the brand effectively.
  10. Establish new supplier relationships to enhance support for the Multifamily Builder division.
  11. Collaborate with managers and Purchasing to refine pricing management procedures.
  12. Strategically plan for integration between Multifamily Builder Rental and Apartment divisions.
  13. Analyze supplier pricing programs and recommend adjustments to drive growth.
  14. Implement a structured approach for succession planning and recruitment.
  15. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.
  16. Support cross-departmental initiatives with effective change management.
  17. Ensure collaboration among Sales, Logistics, Finance, Tech, and Purchasing to meet company objectives.

Staffing and Training:

  1. Manage a team of five direct reports.
  2. Train new managers and Key Account Managers.
  3. Facilitate monthly management meetings.
  4. Conduct quarterly reviews with Multifamily Builder Managers.
  5. Provide training for new leaders within the division.
  6. Develop growth and resource plans for the division.
  7. Participate in the annual performance review process, offering feedback and coaching.
  8. Act as a backup for necessary approvals.

Qualifications:

  1. At least ten years of experience in a profit management role.
  2. A minimum of ten years in a professional sales environment.
  3. Five years of experience in a B2B sales context.
  4. Post-secondary degree or diploma.
  5. Proven experience in managing teams and driving key performance indicators.
  6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  7. Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
  8. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  9. Experience in conflict resolution and negotiations.

  1. Background in residential construction.
  2. Experience with high-performing sales teams.
