Position Overview: CB Canada is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to enhance safety measures within the oil and gas sector. This role is pivotal in driving safety initiatives, managing emergency protocols, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Environment, Health & Safety Manager, focusing on the development, implementation, and evaluation of safety programs and health analytics.
- Conduct thorough gap analyses and audits of health and safety programs; generate reports and action plans based on identified risks to enhance operational efficiency.
- Establish metrics and compile performance reports to track safety improvements.
- Lead the formulation of procedures and policies concerning health and safety regulations and standard operating practices.
- Participate in or oversee investigations to ascertain root causes of incidents and formulate corrective actions, including the preparation of incident documentation.
- Provide round-the-clock support during emergencies; contribute as a member of the Incident Command System (ICS) team and assist in the creation of site contingency plans and emergency response strategies.
- Facilitate and coordinate health and safety training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the oil and gas or linear infrastructure sectors.
- Over 10 years of experience in an industrial health and safety capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science with a focus on Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent advanced safety certifications.
- Certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CSSE/CHSC).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Extensive knowledge of Ontario's health and safety legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
