About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Executive to join our team at MACDONNELL. As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sponsors and exhibitors to meet and exceed sales revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Selling to existing and potential sponsors and exhibitors to meet and exceed sales revenue targets.
- Cold calling prospects and selling the benefits of sponsoring or exhibiting at our events.
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with key sponsors and exhibitors.
- Researching potential sponsors and securing financial sponsorship from commercial organizations.
- Maintaining telephone contact with key sponsorship contacts to establish their promotional strategies.
- Floorplan management and allocation of expo booth space.
- Keeping abreast of market developments and identifying and researching new growth areas for sales.
- Ensuring that all sales administration is completed to a high standard, including letter writing and keeping databases up-to-date.
- Attending industry functions when required.
- Working onsite during the build-up, open period, and breakdown of all the shows, actively helping clients with their onsite requirements.
- Collating and producing sales plans and reports as required.
Requirements
- Excellent track record of sales success.
- Ability to build rapport with potential and existing clients.
- The ability to independently source and close new business.
- Experience in selling sponsorships and exhibition space.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to be resourceful and think laterally.
- The ability to work both independently and as a team player.
- To work calmly under pressure.
Advantageous
- Previous experience in the port, transportation, maritime, and security business is desirable, but candidates with relevant transferable skills and experiences may be considered.
- Fluency in French or Spanish would be an advantage.
Personal Skills/Attributes
The ideal candidate will be proactive in exploring the universe of the market they are working on and comfortable engaging key decision-makers in international companies. They will have the confidence and ability to make a high volume of high-quality sales calls on a daily basis, engage prospects, and create quality proposals. The candidate must have the ability to listen to the prospect and employ a consultative sales approach, well-researched on every call, and require an intelligent, engaging approach.
