Work EnvironmentEmployment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) is a central agency situated in the National Capital Region. Joining ESDC provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the operations of a federal agency and to help shape a model workplace within the public service.

Information RequiredTo be considered, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the following essential qualifications:
EDUCATION:
- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Substantial experience working with the offices of a Deputy Minister, Minister, or equivalent;
- Experience in coordinating and preparing briefing materials to support senior leaders in their parliamentary affairs, communications, or related duties;
- Experience advising senior leaders on program, policy, Cabinet, or parliamentary matters;
- Experience collaborating with officials responsible for Cabinet or parliamentary functions.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Understanding of parliamentary rules and practices and the decision-making processes of the House of Commons, the Senate, and their committees.
COMPETENCIES:
- Demonstrating integrity and respect;
- Analytical thinking;
- Initiative and action-oriented approach;
- Effective collaboration with others.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to identify, analyze, and synthesize complex issues;
- Ability to negotiate, establish deadlines, and ensure compliance;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
Secret security clearance - A valid secret security clearance is a condition of employment required for an appointment at Employment and Social Development Canada.
