Athabasca University's Office of the Vice-President, Finance Operations is seeking a Senior Administrative Coordinator for the VPFO/CFO role.

Position Overview:

The Senior Administrative Coordinator (SAC) will report directly to the Vice-President, Finance and Operations and Chief Financial Officer (VPFO & CFO). This pivotal role entails delivering essential administrative services within the Office of the Vice-President Finance and Operations (OVPFO):

  • Providing comprehensive administrative assistance to the VPFO & CFO.
  • Facilitating the coordination of VPFO Division reports and submissions to the Senior Leadership Team, Board of Governors, Standing Committees, General Faculties Committee, and Administrative Council.
  • Preparing reports and documentation as required for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Offering backup support to the Administrative Assistant who assists the Directors and Chief Internal Auditor within the VPFO Division.
  • Collaborating with the Administrative Assistant to support the financial operations of the division.
  • Administering committee and working group support (e.g., agendas, motions, notes, recordings, coordination) as directed for initiatives led by the VPFO & CFO.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree accompanied by over five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience, ideally within a post-secondary institution (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities, along with outstanding organizational, time-management, and administrative skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in managing a diverse and demanding schedule, multitasking effectively while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment while upholding the university's values.
  • Respect for confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
  • Familiarity with relevant administrative policies and procedures is advantageous.
  • Proficient in key office software, particularly Microsoft Office, Adobe, and SharePoint, with a willingness to learn additional software as necessary.

Work Environment:

The position offers flexibility, allowing for virtual work arrangements from home or on-campus, depending on the candidate's preference.
