Community Outreach Coordinator

About the Role:
The SchoolsPlus Program is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our outreach team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to connect families and community groups with our schools and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with community groups, schools, and families to facilitate support and services to students.
- Develop and implement outreach plans to engage with diverse community groups and promote SchoolsPlus services.
- Collaborate with Principals, teachers, and other staff to ensure effective connections and communication between schools, families, and community agencies.
- Work within an established accountability framework to ensure effective outreach and engagement strategies.
- Provide support and resources to families and community groups to help them access SchoolsPlus services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or equivalent through a combination of experience and a relevant Diploma/Certificate.
- Minimum three years of experience working with students and their families.
- Direct knowledge and experience of communities served is an asset.
- Experience with collaborative practices and community development initiatives is an asset.
- Valid Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle.
