Position Overview
Reporting to the Workday System Manager, the Workday HCM Configuration Expert will primarily operate from our Toronto Support Centre and will be tasked with providing expertise in configuration, testing, documentation, and auditing for Workday HR modules, including Core HCM, Recruitment, and Payroll. The successful candidate will gain exposure to various other modules utilized within the Workday ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the exploration, assessment, recommendation, design, and maintenance of new features, functionalities, and minor enhancements within Workday.
- Conduct fit and gap analyses on Workday processes and upcoming features/functionality that may affect current configurations, integrations, or business operations.
- Act as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) to identify optimal Workday solutions that align with business objectives.
- Define technology needs and deliver the feature roadmap to Business Partners, Systems Manager, and Workday Technical Analyst (Integrations) during system upgrades and deployments.
- Provide operational and project support to the Workday Systems Manager.
- Enhance your knowledge through training, independent research, and hands-on experimentation.
- Identify inefficiencies in processes, propose enhancements, and present recommendations to functional stakeholders.
- Address change management challenges related to process improvements.
- Lead projects as directed by leadership, including organizing meetings, providing regular updates, and adhering to project timelines.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate support and project activities.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of employee information.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of configuration experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, Talent, and/or Recruitment modules.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems or a related field preferred, or a combination of relevant work experience.
- Experience in project management, scheduling, quality assurance testing, documentation preparation, and technical writing is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Workday report writing, calculated fields, and dashboards is preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
- Strong problem identification, analysis, and resolution skills.
- Proficient in decision-making by consistently proposing quality solutions based on thorough data gathering and research.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Skilled in translating technical requirements into business needs and vice versa.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and other functions necessary for conducting ad-hoc data audits.
