About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead our Infrastructure division on exciting projects. As a seasoned professional with a background in Municipal Infrastructure work, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans and schedules, ensuring efficient use of labor and materials.
  • Oversee site safety measures, ensuring compliance with corporate safety manual and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and maintain construction schedules, ensuring milestone and completion dates are met.
  • Manage company vehicles and equipment, planning for future requirements and maintaining equipment logs.
  • Review subtrade/supplier invoices, reporting discrepancies to the Project Manager or accounting department.
  • Hire and manage hourly employees, maintaining and submitting time cards for job costing purposes.
  • Prepare field change orders and work with coordinators/engineers to craft and submit RFI's.
  • Develop and implement resource-loaded 3-week look-ahead schedules that meet the overall Project schedule.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of construction supervision experience.
  • Previous experience as a GF, Superintendent, or similar direct supervisory role.
  • Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education.
  • Solid understanding of modern construction practices.
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
  • Understanding of construction documents and the ability to ensure they are complete, protect the owner's interest, and clearly define expectations.
  • Contract negotiation/management skills.
  • Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
  • A strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
  • Capacity to understand and interpret stakeholder needs and identify solutions to non-routine tasks or queries.
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience.
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders.
