Health and Safety Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Walker Industries. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the public.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety Management: Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Training and Development: Provide training and development programs to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate and report on incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards through regular audits and inspections.
- Education and Experience: Minimum high school graduation, plus an additional college Occupational Health and Safety diploma or a university degree in OHS. Working towards a CRSP designation is an asset.
- Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of legislative requirements of multiple jurisdictions as well as best practices. Strong presentation and facilitation skills to effectively train team members.
- Personal Qualities: Proactive, adaptable, and able to work with diverse personalities and styles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and management.
