Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Program Development
    • Develop and implement health and safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Awareness
    • Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
    • Develop and implement awareness campaigns to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting
    • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Prepare and submit incident reports to management and regulatory agencies.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate health and safety information to employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure health and safety is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Minimum high school graduation, plus an additional college Occupational Health and Safety diploma or a university degree in OHS.
    • Greater than one year but less than or equal to two years of health and safety experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Knowledge of legislative requirements of multiple jurisdictions as well as best practices.
    • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills to effectively train team members.
    • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail and keep accurate records to track training requirements and record incident details.
    • Demonstrated computer software skills to produce documents, reports, and presentations as required.
