Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our Community Mental Health team. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with children, youth, and families to provide evidence-based interventions and support. Your expertise in individual and family therapy, as well as group interventions, will be invaluable in helping us deliver high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical services to children, youth, and families, including individual and family therapy, and group interventions.
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Conduct assessments and provide recommendations for treatment and support.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Masters Degree in Social Work required.
- Registered for registration with the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers required.
- Minimum two (2) years post-masters clinical experience working in child and adolescent mental health services required.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (NVCI).
- Demonstrated experience in individual/family therapy and delivery of evidence-based group interventions.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in case management and community liaison.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated skills in organization and time management.
- Demonstrated understanding of the child welfare system and knowledge of mental health disorders, including anxiety, mood, and disruptive behavior disorders.
- Candidates must have a valid Nova Scotia Driver's License, regular use of a reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance.
- Competencies in other languages an asset.
