Job Description

The Toronto Star is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our Radio Room internship program. As a Radio Room reporter, you will be responsible for monitoring social media and other sources for breaking news, providing quick tips to the newsroom, and sometimes conducting original reporting for all the Star's platforms.

This is a paid, contract position that offers a unique opportunity to work with full-time staff in a challenging but supportive environment. We are looking for enthusiastic and intelligent journalists with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a passion for journalism who bring energy, ideas, and new perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor social media and other sources for breaking news
  • Provide quick tips to the newsroom
  • Conduct original reporting for all the Star's platforms
  • Work with full-time staff in a challenging but supportive environment

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and intelligent journalists with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Passion for journalism and a desire to bring energy, ideas, and new perspectives
  • Strong reporting and writing skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
