About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Fifty's Diner. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the tastes and preferences of our customers.
    • Source high-quality ingredients and suppliers to ensure consistency and excellence in our dishes.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and motivate our kitchen team to achieve exceptional results and maintain a positive work environment.
    • Train and develop staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Ensure that all food safety and quality standards are met, and that our kitchen operations are compliant with regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular kitchen inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels and ordering to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
    • Monitor and control food costs to ensure profitability.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that all customers receive exceptional service and that their needs are met.
    • Address customer complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
    • Or equivalent experience.
  • Work Setting

    • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
    • Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
    • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
    • Order supplies and equipment.
    • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
    • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
    • Clean kitchen and work areas.
    • Organize buffets and banquets.
    • Manage kitchen operations.
