Job Summary

Porter Airlines is seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Trainer to support our Approved Maintenance Organization. This role will be responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs for our Technical Operations personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for Technical Operations personnel, including research and development of course materials, instructor notes, and exams.
  • Create user-friendly course syllabi and detailed instructor notes to ensure presentation continuity between all instructors.
  • Deliver theoretical and practical type endorsement training for the Embraer ERJ and E195-E2 aircraft.
  • Develop and maintain the Technical Operations Training Control Manual (TCM) and assist with the maintenance of training records for line maintenance personnel.
  • Develop online aircraft technical training to ensure compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
  • Participate in regular departmental meetings and actively contribute to Porter's Safety Management System (SMS).
Requirements
  • A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility.
  • Holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence.
  • DHC-8-Q400 endorsement preferred.
  • Embraer experience an asset, E190 family.
  • A minimum of five years' experience working within an Approved Maintenance Organization.
  • Experience working within a leadership capacity an asset.
  • Experience in learning and adult learning facilitation is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Highly knowledgeable of the DHC-8-Q400 and Approved Maintenance Organization and Air Operator processes.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to generate published documents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive unit.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to foster learning.
