Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to manage the daily operations of the Health Equipment Loan Program, including the Specialized Equipment Program and the Transitional Care Unit pilot expansion. Assist with equipment cleaning and service center tasks as directed by the Service Center Coordinator.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with hospitals and long-term care facilities to ensure effective delivery of the Health Equipment Loan Program, including the logistics of equipment delivery and retrieval.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment loans, returns, and statistics in line with program guidelines.
  • Oversee administrative duties, ensuring timely and precise financial transactions and information dissemination to the public.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education or a diploma in a health-related discipline, with one to two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in health, customer service, and administration.
  • Experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or Rehabilitation Assistant is advantageous.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a complex client-focused environment.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities paired with excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, in English are required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications and administrative functions.
  • Previous experience working with volunteers and seniors is considered beneficial.
  • Capability to perform medium to heavy lifting is necessary.

Working Conditions:

  • A valid driver's license for travel within the region and a satisfactory driving record are required.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is necessary. Candidates who are not citizens or permanent residents should review their visa status to ensure eligibility for the position.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment screening process, including a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
