Atimi Software Inc. is in search of a seasoned backend software engineer with a focus on security to take on a pivotal role. This position is fully remote, catering to candidates across Canada, and operates within EST hours. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage proactively with the project team to contribute to product development, leveraging your expertise to navigate the complete development lifecycle.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality and governance.
  • Design, develop, and rigorously test software components and applications for a prominent global audiobook provider.
  • Work collaboratively within an agile engineering team, crafting scalable and maintainable code while influencing team decisions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to conceptualize, design, develop, test, and launch software solutions centered around customer needs.
  • Utilize advanced technology to address complex challenges and deliver high-quality code within deadlines.
  • Exhibit proficiency in a variety of data structures and algorithms, applying them effectively in your work.
  • Independently clarify technical requirements, evaluate development estimates, and implement diverse design strategies.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Promote continuous enhancement in software quality, customer satisfaction, and product maintainability.
  • Mentor and guide developers, fostering a culture of curiosity and deep technical understanding.
  • Ensure adherence to established patterns and designs as agreed upon with project leads.
  • Plan, estimate, and contribute to the architecture, coding, and development processes.
  • Refactor and consistently improve existing codebases.
  • Communicate technical decisions and information effectively to the global team.
  • Take ownership of releases and contribute to the ongoing support of live applications.
  • Deliver equitable outcomes for customers, ensuring a high level of professionalism in all conduct.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Extensive Java development experience (4+ years).
  • Proficient in AWS cloud environments (3+ years).
  • Experience with configuring and utilizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Expertise in building scalable software services (e.g., serverless architectures, microservices).
  • Strong object-oriented design skills with knowledge of design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Solid database modeling capabilities; familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience collaborating directly with clients and project stakeholders to define and refine requirements.
  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering software systems to internal or external clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of navigating complex and ambiguous scenarios.
  • Experience in developing REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with GDPR and CCPA compliance, reporting, and handling data subject access requests.
  • Experience with Kubeflow - Kale in service deployments.
  • Knowledge of automated data attestation and scanning services.
  • Experience with automated on-demand data deletion requests.
  • Proficiency in additional modern programming languages such as C++ and C#.
  • Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Salary and Compensation:

The salary for this position is determined based on the Atimi Salary Grid, ranging from 100k to 180k per annum, contingent upon the candidate's experience and performance during the interview process.
