Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lifeguard to join our team at YMCA Calgary. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe aquatic environment for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with National Lifeguard standards and YMCA Policies and Procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to emergencies in a timely and professional manner
  • Stay up-to-date with YMCA programs and services and promote them to members and guests
  • Perform administrative tasks, update class rosters, lesson plans, and maintain equipment
  • Participate in staff and volunteer training and development opportunities
Requirements
  • National Lifeguard - Pool certification
  • Standard First Aid (recertified within the last 36 months)
  • CPR C certification (recertified within the last 12 months)
  • Lifesaving Instructor certification (asset)
  • Evidence of a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Three professional references
