Job Summary

HORIBA Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in London, Ontario. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of machine tools, including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools, to perform precision machining operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and charts to determine machining operations and plan the best sequence of operations.
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances, measure and lay out work pieces, and set up machine tools for use by machining tool operators.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly filled out, control allocated time on components, route sheets, and equipment maintenance records.
  • Report on quality and operational issues within the department to the department supervisor.
  • Interface with internal customers and other internal departments to ensure timely delivery of custom machined parts.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to perform complex machining tasks.
  • Possess knowledge of higher-level Machining Specialist machines prototypes components (parts) used in the assembly and testing of R&D projects.
  • Promote a safe environment and ensure safety while handling workpieces.
  • Ensure daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment for efficient function and to minimize downtime.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience as a machinist, specifically with CNC programming experience.
  • Completed secondary school or have a credential assessment confirming equivalency.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Alibre design software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
