**Job Summary**

HORIBA Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of machine tools, including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools, to perform precision machining operations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to determine the machining operation to be performed and plan the best sequence of operations.
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances, measure and lay out work pieces.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machine tools to perform precision machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding, and other operations.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up and program machine tools for use by machining tool operators.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly filled out, control allocated time on components, route sheets, and equipment maintenance records.
  • Report on quality and operational issues within the department to the department supervisor.
  • Interface with internal customers and other internal departments to ensure timely delivery of custom machined parts.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Possess knowledge of higher-level Machining Specialist machines prototypes components (parts) used in the assembly and testing of R&D projects and have a comprehensive understanding in the machining of standard and exotic materials.
  • Promote a safe environment and ensure safety while handling workpieces.
  • Ensure daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment for efficient function and to minimize downtime, identify equipment problems, and communicate solutions as required or needed.
  • Be proficient with AutoCAD and Alibre design software.

**Requirements:**

  • At least 1 year of experience as a machinist, specifically with CNC programming experience.
  • Completed secondary school or have a credential assessment confirming equivalency.
  • The completion of a 2-year Electromechanical Engineering Technician course is an asset.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

**Compensation:**

The successful candidate will be remunerated at $28.50 per hour and receive health benefits.
