Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Indigenous Partnerships Lead to join our team at Interior Health Authority. This is a permanent full-time position that will play a critical role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance Indigenous partnerships and engagement in capital planning and projects.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and stakeholders to ensure their needs and perspectives are considered in capital planning and project development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that Indigenous perspectives and needs are integrated into capital planning and project development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase Indigenous participation and engagement in capital planning and project development.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on Indigenous cultural safety and awareness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous vendors and contractors to increase Indigenous participation in procurement processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase Indigenous representation on IH committees and working groups.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on Indigenous language and cultural protocols.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g. Indigenous studies, business, public administration).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Indigenous partnerships and engagement, preferably in a healthcare or government setting.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
