About the Position

The University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus invites applications for a Principal Research Chair (Tier 2) in Indigenous Scholarship. This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Associate Professor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in Indigenous health, with a focus on strengthening Indigenous health scholarship in the School of Nursing.
  • Develop and lead research projects that address the health needs of Indigenous communities.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous communities, organizations, and institutions to develop research partnerships and projects.
  • Mentor and supervise graduate students, particularly Indigenous students, in research and academic pursuits.
  • Teach and develop courses in Indigenous health, nursing, and research methods.
  • Contribute to the development of the School of Nursing's research agenda and strategic plan.
Requirements
  • PhD in nursing or a related health discipline.
  • Record of achievement in research and publication, with a focus on Indigenous health.
  • Experience in collaborative research partnerships with Indigenous communities.
  • Strong potential for teaching and mentorship in Indigenous health and nursing scholarship.
  • Verifiable connections to Indigenous communities, organizations, or institutions.
