Job Summary

The Controls Specialist will support projects and field services activities, including programming and documentation, under the supervision of the Controls Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offline Programming
    • Configure and program PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Beckhoff), robots (ABB), HMIs (Siemens and Allen Bradley), and vision systems (IFM and Keyence).
  • Device Configuration and Networking
    • Configure and network devices using Ethernet/IP and Profinet protocols.
  • On-Site Testing and Troubleshooting
    • Test and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems on-site.
  • Commissioning and Service
    • Commission and service robotic systems off-site.
  • Documentation and Training
    • Develop user manuals, process diagrams, and training programs.
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate with colleagues to achieve project deadlines.
  • Travel Requirements
    • Travel within North America is required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education
    • College or university degree or diploma in electrical engineering, automation, and robotics or a related field.
  • Technical Skills
    • Programming experience with PLCs, robots, and HMIs.
    • Typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Familiarity with MRP systems.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
