Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Mechatronics and Robotics System Designer to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing high-level design tasks, developing new robotics products, and providing technical support for existing designs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Assist senior engineers in designing new products, including the development of new robotics products and providing complete documentation on requirements for new designs.
  2. Technical Support: Provide technical support for existing designs, including coordination of assembly, testing, and calibration procedures with team members.
  3. Vendor Management: Work closely with outside vendors to complete work in a most efficient manner while keeping production costs down.
  4. Engineering Support: Provide engineering support on existing products, including the utilization of technical background to determine what new technologies should be implemented in products to minimize production costs and complexity.
  5. System Design: Design, build, and test various industrial automation/robotics systems.
  6. Technical Competency: Maintain technical competency in the area of expertise through reviews of published literature, interaction with academic institutions, peers in professional societies, and peers within the supplier base.
Requirements
  1. Education: Minimum third year in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. Experience: 2-4 years or more in mechanical design, SolidWorks, industrial design and DFMA, firmware development, Python, C/C++, robotics, and data analysis.
  3. Skills: Strong foundation in control systems, motor controls, motor drivers, and actuators; strong foundation in mechanical design, structural analysis, fatigue analysis, and principles of mechanics; strong familiarity with ROS and the Linux operating system; strong foundation in Python and embedded C/C++ for robotics systems; proficiency in CAD software, with SolidWorks being a must; strong DFMA and industrial design aptitude, familiarity with traditional and modern manufacturing techniques; hands-on experience in building hardware prototypes; experience with pneumatic and hydraulic system design; firm understanding of modern sensor technologies.
