Automation Control Specialist

Position Overview: The Automation Control Specialist at Maple Leaf Foods will play a crucial role in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of automated industrial control systems and equipment throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary support for distributed and local process control automation systems, including ASRS conveyor control and industrial robotic systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to HMI, PLC, Remote IO, VFD, and electronic control systems.
  • Contribute to the installation, predictive and preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of SCADA, PCS, MES, and BAS systems.
  • Update documentation and maintain current backups for all machine and robotic control systems.
  • Ensure synchronization of backups within the asset center repository.
  • Maintain software related to equipment and computer integration, ensuring all revisions are up to date.
  • Provide controls support and training to the plant maintenance team.
  • Design electrical schematics using AutoCAD for any modifications to equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Industrial Automation, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related fields.
  • Allen-Bradley certification(s) would be advantageous.
