Bilingual Disability Claims Manager

Empire Life is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Disability Claims Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Group Operations team, you will be responsible for managing disability claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate and evaluate claims to determine eligibility for payment
- Manage active claims, utilizing best practices to ensure timely and sustainable outcomes
- Interview claimants and employers to gather information and assess claims
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all communication with customers
- Develop and implement case management plans to facilitate return-to-work and ensure sustainable outcomes
- Collaborate with in-house return-to-work facilitators to design and monitor return-to-work programs
- Work closely with team members to exchange ideas, gather information, and offer solutions on claims
- Bilingual (French/English) language proficiency
- 3+ years of experience in disability claim management
- University degree in anatomy, biology, kinesiology, life sciences, or psychology
- Knowledge of medical terminology and disability management best practices/protocols
- Knowledge of relevant provincial employment legislation and legal requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member, prioritize and balance multiple tasks, and research, analyze, evaluate, negotiate, make decisions, and resolve problems
- Competitive salaries with annual pay increases, $65,000 to $80,000 annually; based on experience
