Job Title: Bilingual Disability Claims Manager

Empire Life is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Disability Claims Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Group Operations team, you will be responsible for managing disability claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and evaluate claims to determine eligibility for payment
  • Manage active claims, utilizing best practices to ensure timely and sustainable outcomes
  • Interview claimants and employers to gather information and assess claims
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all communication with customers
  • Develop and implement case management plans to facilitate return-to-work and ensure sustainable outcomes
  • Collaborate with in-house return-to-work facilitators to design and monitor return-to-work programs
  • Work closely with team members to exchange ideas, gather information, and offer solutions on claims
Requirements:
  • Bilingual (French/English) language proficiency
  • 3+ years of experience in disability claim management
  • University degree in anatomy, biology, kinesiology, life sciences, or psychology
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and disability management best practices/protocols
  • Knowledge of relevant provincial employment legislation and legal requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member, prioritize and balance multiple tasks, and research, analyze, evaluate, negotiate, make decisions, and resolve problems
