Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our Building Structural Group, you will be responsible for leading structural design teams and coordinating with other disciplines to achieve project success.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead structural design teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  2. Coordinate structural design and construction with other disciplines, ensuring seamless project execution.
  3. Work closely with clients and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality results.
  4. Develop and review structural models, analysis, and designs, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  5. Prepare and review structural reports and drawings, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  6. Collaborate with BIM staff to prepare drawings and ensure accurate representation of project designs.
  7. Review construction submittals, constructability, and staging drawings, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
  8. Coordinate engineering and commercial items with the construction team, ensuring smooth project execution.
  9. Conduct site visits to review work for general compliance to structural drawings and contract documents.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  2. Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  3. 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on industrial projects.
  4. Fluency in French and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Proven experience with complete design of projects, including analysis, design, detailing, and construction administration for complex industrial projects.
  6. In-depth knowledge of building codes, including NBCC, Quebec Construction Code, and CSA standards.
  7. Proficient in structural analysis software, including SAP, ETABS, SAFE, RAM-Structural, S-Concrete, Microsoft Office Suite, and Acrobat/Bluebeam.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare reports and correspondence independently.
  9. A valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites to conduct site reviews.
  10. Ability to confidently relate with all levels of staff and clientele, internal and external.
