As a Certified Orthopaedic Technician, you will play a vital role in our advanced healthcare facility, providing support to a wide array of patients requiring orthopaedic care. Your key responsibilities will include the application, adjustment, and removal of casts, splints, and traction devices, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, modify, and take off casts, splints, and traction apparatus for orthopaedic patients
- Monitor, observe, and document variations in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions
- Deliver safe and high-quality care consistent with the organization's mission and values
Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse training program
- Active or eligible registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Graduation from an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent experience in a tertiary care facility's Emergency Department
- Recent acute or critical care experience within the last two years
