Orthopaedic Technician Specialist

Your Opportunity:
At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a skilled Orthopaedic Technician to join our team in the Emergency Department of the University of Alberta Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to patients with orthopaedic injuries and conditions.
About the Role:
As an Orthopaedic Technician, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for emergency patients. You will apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, and traction equipment, and observe, monitor, report, and document changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional states.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program
- Active or eligible for registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year emergency nursing experience
- Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational, and patient care skills
- Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
