About the Role

The Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a highly skilled Orthopaedic Technician to join our team in the Emergency Department. As an Orthopaedic Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, and traction equipment to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Observe, monitor, report, and document changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional state.
  • Provide safe and effective quality care, prioritizing patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year emergency nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational, and patient care skills.
  • Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
